"You have a higher chance of having a cold or infection," says Katherine Muller, a clinical psychologist from the Center for Integrative Psychotherapy, Allentown.

2. Heart problems

Depression can increase the levels of stress hormones, like cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine, which also increases blood pressure and heart rate, says Goldberg.

"Higher levels of cortisol makes the arteries more susceptible to plaque," he explained. Goldberg explained that the fat deposits of plaque that clogs arteries, eventually blocking potentially in the bloodstream that can trigger heart attacks and strokes.

People with depression commonly will changes dietary occur. In these conditions the person is likely to find it easier hungry or do not have the appetite.

Muller said, if you start eating your taste is lost, eat something small and healthy - such as vegetables, fruits or nuts - every three hours.

"Eating regularly will re-regulate your appetite," said Muller.

4. Lower the sex drive

People with depression will lower levels of the serotonin hormone. Serotonin is a chemical in the brain that create feelings of pleasure. This condition can also affect your desire for having sex.

Latz gave the advice, make a habit for resting on your chair in desk, for 5-15 minutes/hour. Then change your position and stretch the leg muscles.
